MyFreePDFEdit ("we", "us", "the site") is built around a simple principle: your documents are yours. This policy explains what data is and isn't collected when you use the site at myfreepdfedit.com.

1. Your PDF files

The large majority of our tools — merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, signing, redacting, annotating and editing — run entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to, stored on, or transmitted to our servers. When you close the tab, nothing about your document remains with us.

A small number of conversion tools may require server-side processing to work. Where that is the case, it is clearly stated on the tool's page. For those tools, files are processed only to produce your result and are deleted promptly afterward; they are never used for any other purpose.

2. Information we collect

We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:

  • Usage analytics. Aggregated, non-identifying information such as which tools are used, browser type, and general region, to understand what to improve. This does not include the contents of your files.
  • Advertising data. We display advertising to keep the site free. Ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies (see below).
  • Information you send us. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to include in that message.

We do not currently offer user accounts. If account features are added in the future, this policy will be updated to describe what is collected at sign-in and you will be asked to review it.

3. Cookies & advertising

We use cookies and similar local-storage technologies for essential functions (for example, remembering your light/dark theme preference) and for advertising. Third-party advertising partners may set their own cookies to serve and measure ads. You can control or clear cookies in your browser settings; doing so will not break the core PDF tools.

4. How information is used

  • To operate, maintain and improve the site and its tools.
  • To display and measure advertising.
  • To respond to your questions and support requests.
  • To detect, prevent and address abuse, fraud or technical issues.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Third-party services

The site loads some open-source libraries and may use third-party providers for analytics and advertising. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. The PDF-processing libraries themselves (pdf-lib, pdf.js) run locally in your browser and do not transmit your files.

6. Children's privacy

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. Because we do not maintain accounts or store your files, the data we hold is minimal. To make a request, contact us at the address below.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
